Travel to Spain. ARCHIPELAG CIES

   On the famous map of Ptolemy, compiled in the II. n. e., there is an interesting place called "island of the Gods". If we compare the creation of Ptolemy with the modern map of the world, it turns out that the island of the Gods is nothing more than the archipelago of Sies belonging to the Spanish autonomous region of Galicia. It is located at the northern coast of the country and since 2002 is protected by a national park. The places here are really divinely beautiful.

   The two largest islands of the archipelago - Monte Agudo and Monte Faro - are connected by a long sandy scythe, better known as the beach "Rodas". The latter is covered with snow-white sand, which consists of the purest quartz, crushed almost into flour.

   Quartz sand perfectly reflects the sun's rays, so you can sunbathe here much faster than on other beaches. The beach turns the strait between Monte Agudo and Monte Faro into a natural lagoon called "Children's Lake".

In 2007, Rodas topped the rating of the best beaches in the world according to the version of the newspaper Guardian, ahead of even the magnificent Caribbean coast. Looking at this miracle of nature, there is no doubt that once there lived the gods. And the access of ordinary mortals to the islands of the Sies archipelago is limited, and in the summer months the visit limit does not exceed 2,200 people a day. So everyone who dreams of visiting this amazingly beautiful place needs to take care of the entrance ticket in advance.

Bus / train from Madrid to the city of Vigo - 30 €, 6-9 h / 60 €, 7 h;
then the ferry to the islands from the city of Vigo - about 15 € in both directions, 45 min.
Accommodation on the islands: camping - up to 10 €.
