Travel to Germany. THE BROCKEN MOUNTAIN

   The Brocken (1141 m) is a slice of Iceland, hidden in the center of Germany. Related to this Northern country with a harsh climate and weather extremes: 306 days a year the mountain is shrouded in mist and 100 days covered with snow. The average annual temperature at the Broken not up to +3 °C , and the winds blow at a speed of almost 300 km/h. 

   Not coincidentally, this eerie mountain was selected Goethe as a place for a coven of witches in the famous "Faust". If you happen to be here, cold foggy day, it's easy to understand that the best spot for the evil forces will not come up.

    The mystical glory, the Brocken adds an amazing optical effect. Around a person suddenly there is a rainbow halo, which is easy to be fixed on the camera or camera. This phenomenon is even called "Brokensky range", and it was first described in 1780. 

   For this to happen you need a high mountain, the fog and the sun that shines as if from the side. These three components often are joined on the Broken, but this effect may occur on the other peaks.

between the towns of Braunlage and Badharzburg, up to 5 €, 30 min.
